Question: Can I use USC Spray MAX 2 K high gloss clear coat #3680061 over your decals?

Posted by

SprayMax® 2K Clear Coat is a high-gloss 2-component clear coat for the permanent sealing of coated surfaces. Especially developed for parts and repair refinishing. This product has a long lasting resistance to weathering and to chemicals, it is very easy to polish. SprayMax® 2K Clear Coat has a very smooth flow and an excellent filling capacity; it is especially used for larger surfaces (1 or 2 car parts).

Basis of raw material: Paint: two-component acrylic resins.

Spray passes 1 – 2 spray passes per spray pass approx. 1.2 mil Flash between coats: 3 – 7 min, depending on temperature

Drying: 12 h at 68 °F 35 – 40 min at 140 °F (IR drying

Based on the above reference from SprayMax.com, this clear should work fine. The most important step in clear coating is spraying several light coats first to build a barrier between the decals and fresh clear paint. Allow each pass to tack up dry 4-5 min before you proceed with the next coat. When decal areas are evenly coated, proceed with final build coats as described above.
